Lead Artist Margherita Gramegna says ‘ We are thrilled by the wide range of artists who applied to be part of  Medway Superstars, Stage 1.

The opportunity for artists to submit to our Open Call was widely advertised across 51zero, Medway Arts and Creative Medway social media channels and newsletters as well as those of our partners HSAZ, Medway Council, Cement Fields and a range of artists networks.

We received over 50 submissions from a broad range of artists both in terms of artistic disciplines and levels of experience from emerging to internationally recognised and everything in between.

We formed a cross disciplinary advisory panel with local, regional, national and international experience to support us in making a well balanced final selection using a range of criteria: Sue Jones, Peter Fillingham, Thea Behrman, Peter Hatton, Amer Kamal, Fiona Watt and Alex Cameron. I would like to thank them all for their time and dedication to this process.

It was a real challenge!

We are delighted to announce the 4 artists selected to represent OLD HIGHT ST INTRA:

Christopher Sacre – Artist and Art Facilitator
Jane Pitt – Audio / Visual Artist
Jake Wood – Performance and Intervention Artist
Sarah Blacker Barrowman – Milliner
